The Observer’s article on the WJWW BOT presentation, like the presentation, while informative, did not illuminate the problems with WJWW operational practices. WJWW practices are neither compliant with law nor fiduciarily responsible to their ratepayers. Kudo to Trustee Silver for asking question but their representative answers were mostly obfuscation and deflection. Service Line Repairs – No matter the jargon deployed, when WJWW uses ratepayers funds for service line repairs they are violating NYS Law. NY law requires that service lines “connecting with mains and used by private owners or occupants, shall be laid and kept in repair at THEIR expense”, not the ratepayers. Yard Cleanup – These expenses are NOT split just like the others; VOM ratepayers pay the overwhelming portion. In a single year, while TOH and TOM paid approximately $7,000, VOM ratepayers paid $150,000. There is much more, but with a 150 word limit it will have to wait.
